Hmm, Chanter in 3.0 was a bit of buffing, a bit of healing, and some actually very nice crowd control (specifically stuns, which are immensely useful in PvP).Tell me, how is PvP balance right now? Is it still all RNG or did they reduce that stuff? I played a Chanter because, since its power came from stuns and buffs, it was the least random character in PvP at the time (but also probably the hardest to play well), but I got a bit bored of the PvE content after a while since Chanter didn't have many reactive abilities or anything like that. With the 4.0 patch they also significantly reduced the experience required to attain each level from 1-59. I think they reduced it by like 25%? Which is a lot. They've also added a 'fast-track server'. When you are in game, you can select this server at any time.

It's a single super-server type thing where anyone on any server can go to it and group up. So it makes finding people to do lower level content much easier. They also reduced the exp requirement once before. Maybe a year or two ago. All in all, the leveling experience is MUCH better. I just started playing Aion again, to check out the two new classes. I got bored with the game years ago, when the grind just took it out of me to play.

I guess my chanter was around 30 something, and it just got really boring and the leveling was way too slow. But it looks like they have added something called 'Fast Track' server which allows you to get double XP up until your level 50. The Fast Track server also doesn't allow ganking, people can't rift while on Fast Track. So far I have been able to get my gunslinger to 47 with a matter of a week using Fast Track.

Ok so I haven't played wow for 2 months, currently im playing aion(yeah i know). So yesterday i try to launch wow and see that patch 4.0.1 came out, so i download it and i run into a billion errors. Anyway ima buy a new pc around cata release date, was wondering when cata comes out will the whole game including wrath and all that be included on the disc or what.

Cuase no way in hell am i gonna download 39.9 gig. It's most likely that Cata dvd will contain all the necessary data, much like the Wrath dvd has all the Vanilla and BC data. I assume that the Cata dvd will contain the 4.0.1 client, so you'd have to download 4.0.3 and 4.0.3a anyway. And you don't have to download 39.9gb if you don't have anything installed (I can't figure how did you manage that, mine sits at 23.5gb).

I had to reinstall all of my WoW when the big patch hit and the Battle.net 4.0.1 client had about 16.9gb of downloadable data, +700mb if you have the Cataclysm digital purchase. No, sorry to say but u would have to buy the original wow, download all that then buy BC, download that, and do the same for Wrath/Cata, takes awhile but if ur getting a new computer i wouldnt bet it would take more than 5 hours or so especially if it still has alot of free space. I do agree that blizz should do something about this cause otherwise new people will buy the game and wont be able to play it for hours/days just cause of the downloads. Hope this answered your question You do realize that the game comes on discs, right? Even if you were right about having to install every expansion and patch individually (which you aren't; the Wrath DVD contains everything up to 3.0.2 or so), it wouldn't take anywhere near that long to install from the discs.

Hope this answered your question As of right now you only need the Wotlk disc as it has the full game up until that point. Theres not need to use the old vanilla and TBC.cd's. when the whole game is contained in one Wotlk.dvd.After that its patch updates. Or you can just do a full download off their website but it takes a long time.

The reason the folder is even 40gb is because it has all the old downloaded patches, which can be safely deleted to free up space. Once those patches have been installed theres no reason to keep them.4.0.1 was about 5gb and then the Launcher has to update, which is another 1.4gb.The Cata dvd will have all previous expansions including Wotlk and may or may not include 4.0.1 and 4.0.3. Right now forcing the streamer to 'pre-download' the content on the Cata disk is only 700mb, but who knows what that includes.

Client

Chances are The Shattering content was included with 4.0.1.
